This course is designed to help participants understand the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), and to provide practical tools for creating more equitable environments in both workplaces and communities. Through discussions, case studies, and applied activities, participants will explore systemic inequalities, privilege, and power dynamics while learning how to implement strategies that promote fairness, inclusion, and social justice.

All Hands In

Understanding and Promoting Equity in Diverse Environments is an 8-week program (2 hours per week) during which the student learns about the fundamentals of EDI.

 

Target Audience: Target Audience: Professionals, educators, community leaders, HR personnel, activists, and anyone interested in advancing equity in their organizations or communities.

Week-by-Week Breakdown:

Week 1: Introduction to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI)

Week 2: Unpacking Privilege and Systemic Inequality

Week 3: Exploring Identity, Intersectionality, and Implicit Bias

Week 4: Barriers to Equity in the Workplace and Society

Week 5: Building an Equitable and Inclusive Workplace Culture

Week 6: Leadership and Advocacy for Equity

Week 7: Measuring Equity and Tracking Progress

Week 8: Implementing and Sustaining Equity Initiatives

Evaluation: Participants will be evaluated on the completion of weekly assignments, participation in discussions and role-plays, and the final equity initiative project. Peer review and feedback will help participants refine their strategies and improve their understanding of equity issues.
